There are so many plugins you can use for WordPress (WP), but here I’m listing the best plugins for WordPress in my opinion.
Aksimet – This is a standard WP plugin (comes with your WP install) that blocks spam.
All in One SEO Pack provides the tools you need for Search Engine Optimization.
Featured Story Plugin This plugin was co-developed by Brian Lis and it is an awesome tool! This will provide a featured gallery anywhere on your website.
Google Analytics for WordPress is a great plugin if you already use Google Analytics and prefer it.
Google XML SiteMap creates an XML SiteMap for your site which is supported by the major search engines.
NextGen Photo Gallery is a full integrated Image Gallery plugin for WordPress with dozens of options and features. It is pretty simple to install with great instructions from the creator.
Random File is a really cool plugin that keeps your static pages active. You can utilize it to select random images or random images with text.
Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form – For peace of mind and security this plugin is extremely easy to install and use and it can be customized to suit your needs.
StatPress is a great tool for your site. You can utilize it on your WP admin panel and it will give you traffic stats, incoming link information from the Search Engines and a lot more.
Table of Contents Creator is a great tool for creating a “Visitor” site map. Before transitioning my sites on the WP Platform I had a Visitor site map – this does all the work for you in automatically generating that information and it’s customizable.
WordPress Database Backup is a necessity in my opinion. It creates backups of your core WordPress tables as well as other tables of your choice in the same database. You can choose to download the backups to your computer, a directory in your server, or simply have them emailed to yourself.
